Approach socks designed for approaching and daily hiking in lightweight, wrap-around shoes designed for this type of activity.
Designed primarily for a low shoe, some models are also suitable for use with a lightweight boot.
The key features of our merino wool approach and light trekking socks are: Breathability
- High-quality yarns
- Blister-proof
- Anti-odor
- Sweat-proof
These are extremely breathable merino wool socks to be worn preferably with a low, snug shoe suitable for approaching rock faces and via ferrata.
If you prefer something less snug and slightly thicker with more wool, then also take a look at our medium thickness summer trekking socks.
If, on the other hand, you are looking for something for the winter season or intermediate seasons at high altitudes where you may still experience very low temperatures, then take a look at our merino wool thermal winter trekking socks.
BLISTER-PROOF APPROACH SOCKS
Our merino wool socks for climbing approaching are made from a patented wool and polypropylene yarn, which has the characteristic of wicking moisture away from the outside, reducing the formation of blisters, leaving the foot dry and preventing the formation of unpleasant odours even on short hikes.
Of course, as with all ELBEC socks, we use extremely fine, extra-fine quality merino wool with a yarn diameter of between 16 and 21 microns.
In the compression models the degrees of compression on the foot are moderate.
The reinforced parts in contact with the most stressed points of the foot are made of merino wool and not of polyamide as in the socks of other brands. This is an indication of very high quality!
BREATHABLE APPROACH SOCKS
HYBRID socks have being designed in partnership with WILD TEE and the founder ultrarunner Filippo Canetta to meet the need for ultra-breathable merino wool winter running socks. These thermal running socks are made from fine yarns that ensure a very pleasant fit. They are compressive, but not graduated.
Thanks to the feedback from our customers, we have pleasantly discovered that these socks are also very popular for light day trekking and as approach socks with technical shoes designed for demanding terrain at altitude. The high breathability and lightness of these socks make them perfect in summer for climbing approach and via ferrata.
